On 07/07/26 had Synolis VA 80/160 intra-articular injection containing 80mg of hyaluronic acid and 160mg of sorbitol for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain and mobility issues in my left knee.<br><br>I'm waiting for a knee replacement and for the last 18 months pain has been a problem as well as reduced mobility in that I cannot walk any real distance (especially downhill) without pain and usually rely on painkillers to sleep. I have previously had steroid injection and steroid with hyaluronic acid injection with moderate results in that the pain was reduced for a couple of weeks but my mobility was still restricted.<br><br>Synolis injection has resulted in a much much better result with reduced pain and more importantly for me a marked improvement in mobility. I had the injection a week before a trip to Malta. My partner and I traditionally prefer to walk as much as possible when on holiday and as anyone who has visited the Valletta area would know it is very hilly. I managed to comfortably walk on average 6 to 8 km per day without needing to take any oral painkillers and the affect has continued through to date. Synolis is not going to fix my knee but I will definitely have another injection in January (every 6 months is permitted.<br><br>I must disclose that I am a retired Registered Nurse and University lecturer and would only promote treatments that are evidence based and before accessing the injections I reviewed the literature and the consensus expert opinion is that hyaluronic acid in combination with other ingredients e.g. sorbitol is safe and effective.<br><br>Further to this the Private Clinic is run and managed by healthcare professionals with clear standards of conduct and practice. The professionalism shown me by Jodie and the team was exemplary and although I have no clinical issues post injection Jodie assured me that I could contact her anytime.
